MTV Video Music Awards 2026, le nomination: Madonna domina, segue Taylor Swift

Anche se con un po’ di ritardo rispetto alle scorse edizioni, tornano gli MTV Video Music Awards, che quest’anno andranno in onda domenica 27 settembre dal Peacock Theater di Los Angeles. Un ritorno in California dopo che l’evento musicale è stato ospitato a Inglewood nel 2017.

MTV ha deciso di rendere giustizia a una delle vere regine di questo show, colei che ha sempre portato in scena performance memorabili sul palco degli MTV Video Music Awards: Madonna! La Ciccone quest’anno è la più nominata, visto che il suo nome è presente in ben undici categorie, alcune anche tra le più importanti, come video dell’anno, artista dell’anno, canzone dell’anno e miglior collaborazione (per Bring Your Love con Sabrina Carpenter). Con tutte queste nomination, è possibile che Madonna si presenti all’evento e magari anche si esibisca con uno dei pezzi del suo Confessions II.

Dietro alla regina del pop, con nove nomination c’è Taylor Swift, grazie a Opalite e The Fate of Ophelia, poi Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter con sette nomination e Bruno Mars, PinkPantheress e Zara Larsson con cinque. Proprio come un anno fa, quando è arrivata a quota dodici nomination, anche questa volta Lady Gaga è in gara. La Germanotta e Doechii con Runway (singolo che fa parte della colonna sonora de Il Diavolo Veste Prada 2) concorrono in miglior video di un brano dance e miglior scenografia. Non poteva certo mancare Shakira, che con Burna Boy è ai piani alti delle classifiche di tutto il mondo, la loro hit Dai Dai è stabile alla prima posizione della Spotify Global e in questi VMA 2026 è nominata in miglior collaborazione e miglior video di un pezzo latino.

Non mancano gli idoli del K-Pop, Lisa delle BLACKPINK è l’artista coreana più nominata in assoluto di questa edizione con quattro nomination, seguita dai BTS con due e dalle HUNTR/X, nominate in canzone dell’anno con il brano Golden, che è diventato una vera hit globale.

Dopo aver svelato tutte le nomination, MTV nei prossimi giorni annuncerà anche i primi performer di questi Video Music Awards 2026.
